The Three-Currency System

HYFY uses three distinct currencies, each designed for a specific purpose. They interact in a one-way flow that keeps the system honest and resistant to gaming.

1. Space Credits — Your Everyday Currency​

Space Credits are purchased through the App Store or Google Play at fixed prices (e.g., $0.99 for 100 credits). They are fiat-stable, off-chain, and never fluctuate in value. Spend them to like, comment, repost, and engage across the platform.

Why this design?

  • Consistent, predictable pricing with no crypto volatility affecting your ability to use the app
  • Non-crypto users never need a wallet or blockchain knowledge
  • Creates a real economic signal: genuine engagement costs something small, which filters out spam

Space Credits are never directly convertible to HYFY. They are the platform's revenue input. Karma is the bridge.

2. Karma — Your Reputation and Reward Score​

When you spend Space Credits on social actions, you earn Karma. So does the person on the receiving end of your interaction. Karma is also earnable through consistent daily engagement, profile completeness, referrals, and other authentic-activity signals.

Karma is:

  • Off-chain — stored securely in your account, not on a public blockchain
  • Soulbound — it belongs only to you and cannot be transferred, traded, or purchased
  • Useful inside the app — unlocks premium in-app capabilities and feature access as you earn it
  • The bridge to HYFY — eligible, KYC-verified users can convert Karma into HYFY through a monthly claim process

Karma reflects real human engagement. Bots and fake accounts cannot easily accumulate it, and it cannot be bought directly. The only path to Karma is genuine platform use.

Karma is the engine of HYFY's daily experience. It makes engaging with the community feel meaningful because participation builds standing in the network.

3. HYFY Token — Optional On-Chain Utility​

HYFY is the platform's native ERC-20 token, deployed on the Polygon network for fast, low-cost transactions with broad wallet and exchange compatibility.

HYFY is optional. The core app experience works completely without it. For users who want on-chain utility, HYFY unlocks a richer layer of the ecosystem.

What you can do with HYFY:

  • Tip creators directly, peer-to-peer
  • Mint tickets (NFTs) for exclusive online and in-person events
  • Trade or hold on decentralized exchanges
  • Participate in governance signaling as HYFY's DAO matures
  • Access creator monetization rails and supporter tiers
  • Future: staking, ecosystem rewards, partner integrations, cross-border micropayments

How you get HYFY:

You earn Karma through authentic engagement, submit a monthly claim request via KYC-verified privacy-preserving identity, and receive HYFY directly to your self-custody wallet. Network fees are sponsored by the protocol so you pay nothing to receive your claim.

Once in your wallet, HYFY is fully yours: transferable, tradable, and portable to any application that supports it.
